Been doing some research on how V's flying handling works and decided to make a few handlings for interesting aircraft.
I have documented my findings here, if you are interested.
Features:
- More realistic lift
- Longer land/takeoff
- Ability to stall properly
- Reduced landing gear grip and braking
- Slower Pitch/Yaw/Roll inputs
- Heavier aircraft chassis, with some inertia to them
- Smoother landing gear suspension
- Faster flying speed (up to 350mph or so on the F22)
Special thanks Lenny's Mod Loader for enabling me to learn all of this by allowing me to load new models quickly to bypass the fact that GTAV doesn't want to replace the handling data live. To update a handling live, I had to rename the model to something new so a new handling id could get loaded. LML made it very quick to do so.
Aircraft supported:
- NH 90
- KC-130J Super Hercules
- Cessna 337 SkyMaster
- F-22 Raptor
- Antonov AN-225 Mriya
Quick FAQ
- Does it include the vehicles? / No, it only includes a handling file. Download the vehicles separately above.
- Do I need to replace handling files? / No, this is an Add-On dlc. You install it as usual and forget it. It will override other handlings automatically.
- Will you include...? / Feel free to ask for other aircraft.
Installation
- Make sure you have any of the above aircraft installed. This mod ONLY affects those.
- Place the ho_aircraft folder in \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\.
- Open \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\ dlclist.xml"
and add to it dlcpacks:/ho_aircraft/ .
- Run the game. The planes and helos listed above will feel different.

Ohh my something i have been looking for xD .... Please do helicopter too xD
@Eddlm Maybe make it replace version?I just have F-22a mod,but when i try to replace your handling data of F-22,game crashed...
@GodBlessingDH just to be sure...the name in handling file and dlcpack name must match right..try to rename in handling.meta
@Eddlm I appreciate your effort to make aircraft handling more real, it's just hard to make it right, since the gta5 physics is so unreal. So hats off for all of you guys trying to make this game more cool. Good job ;)
@Kiwino Thanks! Though GTAV physics are actually pretty capable of representing simplified reality, its just that they are configured with extreme values by R* to get the arcade feel they wanted. Keep in mind all we manage to make the handling more real, is because the game engine allows for that realism in the first place. We're just editing config files.
@Eddlm You're absolutely right. I'm just a bit blue cos tryin' to get the best of it pretty long and only for the price of losing drag force. I would rather have 400 kts climbing and real take off/landings on longer runway, just air brakes has very little impact vith my configuration.
cool guy mod =) it works with all planes ??
Would love the IL-76 to be done next!
Cara, achei sensacional esse seu mod. Vinha de um tempo pra cá brincando com a jogabilidade dos caças do jogo, deixando mais "realistas" o resultado é muito satisfatório.
Finally 😍 I've been trying to make my own for a while, but I keep failing and my planes either float off the runway or dont' take off
@Eddlm Can you tell me to modify the controls of the plane? I have several aircraft mods that are difficult to fly and I want to modify them
Realish?! More like the most Realistic handling for GTA 5!! Thank you so much! Could you please support the F/A 18 Super Hornet by SkylineGTRFreak? That would be great because I'm planning to make a video clip using the song "I ain't worried".
