About:
A script that gives you a clean, modern weapon HUD for GTA V singleplayer.
Shows your current weapon and its status (EQUIPPED / HOLSTERED) on-screen with smooth fade transitions. Fully customizable and lightweight, it wonโt affect performance.
Features:
- Modern HUD box showing weapon name and status
- Smooth fade-in/fade-out animations for display
- Configurable position, size, and display duration
- Automatically detects current weapon
- Works for all weapons in GTA V (melee, pistols, rifles, shotguns, SMGs, LMGs, snipers, heavy weapons, throwables)
- Shows last weapon name when holstered
- Optional configuration menu + reload with F10 key
Configuration:
- PosX, PosY: Position on screen
- DisplayDuration: How long the HUD stays visible (ms)
- Weapon names can be customized in the INI file
Requirements:
- GTAV Legacy
- Script Hook V
- Script Hook V .NET (๐ธNightly Build๐ธ)
Using outdated versions of SHVDN may cause crashes. Use latest versions!
Installation:
1. Make sure to delete older versions before installing
2. Drop WeaponHUD.dll, INIFileParser.dll and the folder WeaponHUD into your scripts folder
To uninstall, remove the DLL and folder

v1.0.1 (hotfix) - Uploaded wrong .DLL, now it should work correctly.
v1.0.2 (hotfix) - Added INIFileParser.dll for those who dont have already, because the script needs to read data from the .ini file.
v1.1 - Major Update:
-> New In-Game Configuration Menu โ Press ~ (tilde) key and type weaponhud to open a full customization menu.
-> Live Preview Mode โ While the menu is open, the Weapon HUD stays visible permanently so you can see changes in real-time.
-> Massive Customization โ Adjust position, size, colors, padding, scales, line settings, and more directly in-game.
-> F10 โ Toggle menu open/close. Closing the menu automatically saves all changes to WeaponHUD.ini.
-> No more automatic folder/INI creation โ Cleaner installation. Just place WeaponHUD.ini in your scripts folder.
-> Improved decimal parsing โ Now supports both dot (.) and comma (,) for users from all countries.
-> Fixed critical initialization order โ Prevents crashes and loading issues for many users.
-> Better ~ key detection โ More reliable input handling.
-> Removed F9 reload โ Replaced with the new menu system.
-> Overall stability improvements โ Better compatibility with latest Script Hook V .NET nightly builds.
-> Code cleanup & optimization

This script requires LATEST SHVDN (nightly build) to work.. At least ScriptHookVDotNet-v3.7.0-nightly.106 from 2 days ago. If you got an older version and it doesnt work please update.

@Chongobonfo i think i found out why bro, you need a ini parser, download the new version i included the ini parser there. just drag and drop everything in the scripts folder.

guys v1.0.2 now should work for everybody perfectly as long as you have latest script hook v dot net (nightly build) and dragged everything inside your scripts folder (weaponhud.dll, inifileparser.dll, weaponhud folder)!!!

@Mizzy999 try to press F9 to reload ini data while in game. also make sure to save every change in the ini file and only change the names after the = sign like make sure its Pistol=Glock 17 and not Glock 17=Pistol. save with ctrl+s then in game press F9 to reload ini. im sorry yall have issues for me it was working good and i didnt have anyone to test i hope u understand

@Chongobonfo dang it bro man i just took all my modded files on desktop and just installed latest script hook v (in game directory), latest script hook v dot net nightly build in game directory, also in OpenIV asi manager installed all 3 asi's, then made scripts folder and just dragged everything from v1.0.2 inside scripts folder and it was working. i really dont know whata the issue. do you get any in game errors or shvdn errors in log?

pretty slick mod, works for addon weapons too. Only thing is you cant change the addon weapon names, would it possible to implement this?

@ww_aleeex The weapon HUD is not displaying correctly. In the top-right corner of my screen, I can only see half of a gray square. It seems to be cut off by the edge of the monitor. Is there a way to adjust the HUD position or fix the scaling?

Works very nice once you figure out how to get it to show the custom names. One improvement I would suggest though is the ability to use addon weapons and have custom names for those such as the thin line sanctuary DDM4V7

@ww_aleeex another addon I would make is icons showing up for those weapons and the ability for us to show custom icons also. Such as a folder with PNG files that link up to the weapons

V1.1 Update - changelog in description - now really works for EVERYONE. remember last script hook v, script hook v dot net nightly builds. For those who update now, remove the WeaponHUD folder and the WeaponHUD.dll then drag & drop all the new files inside the scripts folder. Main thing is now on F10 you can open a menu to change the HUD how you like.
