In 2021 ITA Airways was founded as independent successor to the bankrupt Alitalia.
As part of the realignment, an order for 28 Airbus aircraft was placed.
In addition, six Airbus A350-900s were leased and several A319s and A320s were taken over from Alitalia.
This livery already features the Star Alliance logo, in anticipation of the airline's expected membership in 2026.
