Bangladesh Air Force, Various Aircraft, C-130J30, Mi8, MiG-21, MiG-29, Yak-130 1.0

112

After a request for paint for the Bangladesh Air Force's MiG-21 and MiG-29, I decided to generate paint for Bangladesh for various aircraft I'd already made paint for...and here they are. Happy Winter Solstice Adjacent Holiday to all!

For The GTAV C-130J30
Here https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/c-130j-30-super-hercules-usa-germany-canada-add-on

Once installed with their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV.

Follow this path to the file to overwrite:

...Program Files\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\c130j30\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\c130j30.ytd

If you wish to retain the original livery, while in OpenIV, extract the file c130j30.ytd. I typically extract the original .ytd to the same folder as the dlc.rpf and rename it to origc130j30.ytd.

When ready to overwrite with the c130j30 livery, toggle "Edit mode", top right button, and drag c130j30.ytd from the extracted zip file and drop here:

...Program Files\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\c130j30\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\c130j30.ytd

Just to confirm the livery, I'd click on the c130j30.yft file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer to see what the model will look like with the new livery.

Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV and spawn c130j30 with the trainer of your choice.

For Jimmyr's Mi-8 and Mi-8 Cargo

https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/mil-mi-8-gunship-add-on-fivem
https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/mil-mi-8-cargo-trooptransport-add-on-fivem

Once installed with their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV

Follow this path to the file to overwrite:

...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mi8\dlc.rpf\x64\vehicles.rpf\mi8.ytd
...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mi8\dlc.rpf\x64\vehicles.rpf\mi8cargo.ytd

When ready to overwrite with one of the provided liveries, toggle "Edit mode", top right button, and open the mi8.ytd and/or mi8cargo.ytd, the rename mi_8tv_c.dds to mi_8tv_c_orig.dds.
Then drag the .dds file you'd like from the extracted file into the .ytd file, then rename the .dds from, for example, mi_8tv_c_NorthKorea to mi_8tv_c

Just to confirm the livery, I'd click on the mi8.yft and/or mi8cargo.yft file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer to see what the model will look like with the new livery.

Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV and spawn mi8 or mi8cargo with the trainer of your choice.

I've included my working file in GIMP .xcf format, in case you'd like to start with this as a basis for your own paint.

For The GTAV MiG-21
Here https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/mig-21-bis-fishbed-add-on-vehfuncs-v

Once installed with their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV. I created two additional .ytd files as putting them in the single provided .ytd file caused it to become corrupt.

To access the additional .ytd files, you will need to overwrite the vehicles.meta (...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mig21b\dlc.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5) file with the one in the zip file. These lines at the bottom of the vehicle.meta file allow additonal .ytd files.

Follow this path to add the provided .ytd files:

...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mig21b\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\

Toggle "Edit mode", top right button, and drag mig21b1.ytd and mig21b2.ytd from the extracted zip file and drop here:

...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mig21b\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\mig21b1.ytd and .../mig21b2

Just to confirm the livery, I'd click on the mig21b.yft file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer to see what the model will look like with the new livery.

Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV and spawn mig21b with the trainer of your choice.

I've included samples of my work files, in case you'd like to use them as a starting point for your own work.

For The GTAV MiG-29a
Here https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/mig-29a-fulcrum-add-on

Once installed with their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV. BTW, I had overwrite the german liveries in mig29agerman.ytd to add 4 liveries to mig29agerman.ytd.

Follow this path to the file to overwrite:

...\D:\Program Files\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mig29a\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\

If you wish to retain the original livery, while in OpenIV, extract the file mig29agerman.ytd. I typically extract the original .ytd to the same folder as the dlc.rpf and rename it to origmig29agerman.ytd.

When ready to overwrite with the mig29a livery, toggle "Edit mode", top right button, and drag mig29agerman.ytd from the extracted zip file and drop here:

...GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mig29a\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\mig29agerman.ytd

Just to confirm the livery, I'd click on the mig29a.yft file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer to see what the model will look like with the new livery.

Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV and spawn mig29a with the trainer of your choice.

Liveries for Khamlabouttavong's Yak-130.

For the Yak-130 here, https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/yak-130-lao-people-s-liberation-army-air-force-addon-v2-0

Paint for Algeria, Greece (The Aermacchi M-346 is a modified Yak 130), Italy, Israel, Poland, Singapore and Vietnam.

Once installed with their instructions, open the dlc.rpf with OpenIV

Follow this path to the file to overwrite:

...\GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\yak130\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\vehicles.rpf\yak130.ytd or

If you wish to retain the original liveries, while in OpenIV, extract the file yak130.ytd. I typically extract the original .ytd to the same folder as the dlc.rpf and rename it to origyak130.ytd.

Once you've decided on a livery, change the name of the MAT2_C.dds file in the .ytd to something like MAT2_Corig as well as materi02 to materi02Orig, then rename the livery files you'd like, MAT2_CVietnam and materi02Vietnam to MAT2_C and materi02.

Just to confirm the livery, I'd click on the yak130.yft or yak130_hi.yft file to open the OpenIV Model Viewer to see what the model will look like with the new livery.

Once satisfied, close the model viewer and run GTAV and spawn yak130 with the trainer of your choice.

I've included my work file(s) in case you'd like to create your own paint.

Enjoy,
Gillman
